Gary Kirsten bereaved
08-08-08 may be a good date for China to commence the 2008 Olympics but proved to be a sad day for India coach Gary Kirsten.
His 64-year-old mother Gayl Hall passed away on Friday, according to the Vincent Pallotti Hospital souces in Cape Town.
"Gary Kirsten is still in the ward with her", the sources said.
The regular oncologist Dr Greg Hart, who was treating Kirsten's mother, is out of South Africa and she was being looked after by Dr J Harris.
Kirsten's mother was admitted to this hospital couple of days ago where she was undergoing the treatement for the last stage of lung cancer.
Kirsten flew from Colombo to see his mother earlier this week.
