No coach Kirsten for third Test

Indian coach Gary Kirsten will not be present for the Colombo Test as he will be flying back to be with his ailing mother.

The BCCI Tuesday informed through a statement that Kirsten will take a flight from Colombo to South Africa tonight to be with his mother "as she is very critically ill".

"There will not be any replacement in his absence," said Board secretary Niranjan Shah.

India are due to take on hosts Sri Lanka in the third and final Test of the series at Colombo starting Friday.

The visitors lost the first Test at the SSC, Colombo before bouncing back to square the series in Galle.

The Test series will be followed by a five-match ODI series, the team for which will be selected on August 7.
