Calderón denies Robinho exit

Real Madrid chief Ramón Calderón has squashed reports over Robino’s imminent move to English outfit Chelsea.

In the wake of a US$50 million offer Chelsea lodged to their Spanish counterparts for the Brazilian dazzler, Los Blancos president Ramón Calderón has categorically denied any prospect of seeing Robinho depart the Santiago Bernabéu.

“He is definitely going to stay with us. The coach has said he wants him in our team,” Calderón said, in an interview with BBC Radio Five Live.

“We do not see any possibility of him leaving Real Madrid. We know Chelsea are interested in signing him, but he’s one of the best players in our team and we need him for the new season,” the president added.

Robino’s relationship with Real has been rocky to say the least, with the player suffering a double whammy after being included in a proposed deal to bring Cristiano Ronaldo to the club as well as being barred from competing at the Beijing Olympics wtih Brazil.

Now, it looks as if Real will once again ignore his pleas for a move to London.

The player’s agent, Wagner Ribeiro, who was so instrumental in orchestrating his switch to Spain from Santos, has already revealed to Marca that his client is “very angry at the way the Madrid bosses are treating him”.

“He calls me everyday to find out if anyone has spoken to me about his future and I always have to tell him no one has called,” said Ribeiro.

“His ambition is to become the best player in the world but he won’t achieve that at Madrid because they treat him like a normal player,” he added.

Having resolved one mammoth transfer saga this week, it looks as though Real Madrid may have another one on their hands brewing out of control.
