Redding boosted by new bike
British GP winner Scott Redding has secured a factory Aprilia 125cc machine for the 2009 season.
Redding continued his fine debut season with a race win at his home round, making the 15-year-old one of the hottest properties in the class.
Redding was told the news during a meeting in Italy with Aprilia boss Gigi Dall'Igna after impressing during his debut season for the Blusens Aprilia squad on semi-factory machinery.
Redding, who lies 12th in the championship points table, has an offer to replace current world championship leader Mike di Meglio in the Ajo Motorsport Aprilia team for the 2009 series and was also approached to move to the 250cc class with KTM.
But Redding, from Quedgeley in Gloucestershire, who is likely to stay with the Blusens squad, told Motor Cycle News: "I'm not sure where (on which team) I will be riding, but to get a factory bike is brilliant news.
"I've won a race this year on an old bike, so the latest spec factory bike hopefully will let me fight for the championship next season."
