Clippers sign Jason Williams
The Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday signed free agent and former Miami Heat guard Jason 'White Chocolate' Williams.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
A veteran of 10 NBA seasons, the 6-1, 180-pound Williams joins the Clippers after playing the last three seasons for the Miami Heat, who he helped guide to the 2005-06 NBA Championship.
Williams, 32, averaged 8.8 points, 1.9 rebounds and 4.6 assists while appearing in 67 games last season for Miami.
In Los Angeles, he will join his Heat teammate from last season, Ricky Davis, as a new member of the Clippers and will serve a backup for prized free agent signee Baron Davis.
In 679 career regular season games, the seventh overall pick of the 1998 draft has averaged 11.4 points, 6.3 assists and 2.4 rebounds for the Sacramento Kings, Memphis Grizzlies and the Heat.
